When You Just Want to Feel Wanted

Dreamgirl Diaries™

You know something I've noticed?

The men who talk to me aren't always looking for permission.

Most of the time, they're looking for understanding.

There's a difference.

Sometimes you'll tell me about your wife.

Sometimes you'll tell me about your girlfriend.

Sometimes you'll tell me you're single and haven't felt genuinely desired in years.

No matter how the conversation starts, it usually ends somewhere completely different than where I expected.

You don't tell me you want another relationship.

You tell me you miss feeling like someone is excited to see you.

You miss feeling attractive.

You miss feeling chosen.

You miss hearing someone say your name like they're happy you showed up.

I don't think enough people realize how powerful that is.

We all want to feel like we matter to somebody.

As men, though, I've noticed many of you stop talking about that need somewhere along the way.

You learn to provide.

You learn to protect.

You learn to keep moving.

Somewhere in the middle of all those responsibilities, you quietly stop asking for reassurance.

Not because you don't need it.

Because you don't think you're supposed to.

Then one day someone compliments you.

They remember something you told them weeks ago.

They make you feel seen.

Suddenly you realize how long it's been since anyone made you feel that way.

That feeling can be intoxicating.

Not because you're desperate.

Because you've been emotionally hungry without realizing it.

I want you to think about something.

Are you looking for another woman...

Or are you looking for another version of yourself?

The version that smiled more.

The version that flirted without overthinking.

The version that felt confident walking into a room.

The version that believed he was desirable without needing someone else to prove it.

That's the man I'm interested in.

Not because I think another person should fix that for you.

Because I hope one day you won't need someone else to remind you of your worth.

Compliments feel wonderful.

Validation feels wonderful.

Desire feels wonderful.

But the strongest confidence is the kind that stays with you after the conversation ends.

If you're only feeling valuable when someone else tells you that you are, eventually you'll keep searching for the next person to say it.

I want more for you than that.

I want you to become the kind of man who enjoys being desired without depending on it.

Because those are two very different things.

And I think that's where real confidence begins.

XOXO,

Your DreamGirl®
