You Didn't Come Here Just for Fantasy
Dreamgirl Diaries™
I don't think you came here because of me.
At least, not entirely.
I think you came here because, for a little while, you didn't have to explain yourself.
You didn't have to protect your reputation.
You didn't have to worry that I'd bring this conversation up six months from now.
You didn't have to wonder whether I'd see you differently tomorrow.
You could simply be honest.
I've always found that fascinating.
Sometimes the most intimate part of our conversation isn't the fantasy.
It's the moment you realize you can finally stop editing yourself.
You tell me things you've never said out loud.
Not because I'm more important than the people in your life.
Because I'm outside your life.
I'm a stranger.
And sometimes strangers feel safer than the people whose opinions matter most.
That's the paradox.
The people we love have the greatest capacity to understand us.
They also have the greatest capacity to hurt us.
So instead of risking rejection, you choose anonymity.
For an hour, you let yourself be completely honest.
No performance.
No pretending.
No reputation to protect.
Just you.
Maybe that's why you keep coming back.
Not because you can't find fantasy somewhere else.
But because it's one of the few places where you don't have to hide parts of yourself.
And whether we ever speak again or not, I hope you eventually find a place where you don't need anonymity to feel understood.
Because everyone deserves at least one relationship where honesty feels just as safe as silence.
XOXO,
Your Dreamgirl®
