What If You Just Told Her?

Dreamgirl Diaries™

Can I ask you something?

How many conversations have you had in your head that never made it out of your mouth?

You rehearse them.

You imagine every possible reaction.

You picture the disappointment.

The confusion.

The judgment.

So instead...

You stay quiet.

Then one day you tell someone like me.

Not because I'm more important.

Not because I'm replacing anyone in your life.

Because I'm safe.

You don't have to worry about seeing me across the dinner table next week.

You don't have to wonder if I'll bring it up during an argument.

You don't have to protect an image.

You just get to be honest.

I've always found that interesting.

Sometimes what you're really paying for isn't fantasy.

It's permission.

Permission to say the thing you've been afraid to say out loud.

I wonder how different your life would look if you believed honesty didn't automatically lead to rejection.

Maybe your partner would understand.

Maybe they wouldn't.

But at least the conversation would be real.

And sometimes that's where real intimacy begins.

Not with agreement.

With honesty.

I know that isn't easy.

But I also know carrying the weight of silence year after year isn't easy either.

Maybe the bravest thing you ever do isn't sharing a fantasy.

Maybe it's trusting someone enough to let them see the real you.

XOXO,

Your Dreamgirl®
